How cool are Candy Cigarette Banks? Cooler than words can describe. Here are two copies of the most popular such bank from Miner-Matic. My red copy actually has twelve vintage boxes of cigarettes in it, though I wouldn't try eating them if I were you. Both of my copies are missing the back, something that is very normal for this toy. I've only seen one up for bid on eBay with a back and I captured the two small images of the back from that auction. No date on my copies though I would guess the late 1950s or early 1960s. Neat stuff!
Other toys in my collection where you can get something for a penny: Vend-O-Mat Chocolate Cigarette Bank by Tell Chocolate Novelties, Chiclets Gum Machine Bank by Hasbro, and Coney Island Penny Machine by Remco. Other toys in my collection that promote lung cancer: Smoking Monkeys by manufacturers unknown.
