This toy is one of my fondest memories as a child. Made by Marx, a full sized golf club with a plastic rendition of Arnold Palmer at the bottom. Assorted clubs snapped into his arms and a trigger near the grip made him swing the club. As I recall this was not an easy toy to master but it was a great deal of fun. Item number 5280, no date on the box but I got mine (originally) in the late 1960s.
Other golf toys in my collection: Pivot Golf (originally known as Golferino).
Golf toy/gift ideas from Amazon.com: Electronic Arcade Golf by Sports Zone,
Levitating Golf Ball
by Fascinations, and
TV Mini Golf
by Hasbro.
