1948 Homebuilt TeardropBack to Sam's Teardrop Page

Though I'm barely started on the rebuild of my 5x10 tear (floor is mostly done), I started looking for an old tear to restore. I purchased this 1948 Homebuilt Teardrop on 7/13/2005 for $300.00 from a fellow locally. He has a second vintage trailer shown at the bottom of the page that I will likely also buy. Not enough hours in the day...

Click on any thumbnail for a larger view of that image. Each larger view has a short description and navigation links to the next and previous. Enjoy, Sam.

The fellow I bought the teardrop from has this unique 1955 pop-up for sale also. I've talked myself out of it, at least for today. To see what one is supposed to look like see this restored version that was on loan to the Petersen Auto Museum some time ago. Should I decide to take on this rebuilt I'll need to devote months/years and many, many dollars.
